How To Bet On 2026 Preakness Stakes From Washington or Oregon

By Horse Racing

The 2026 Preakness Stakes will take place at Laurel Park in Maryland this Saturday, May 16th (the race was moved due to construction at it’s usual home of Pimlico Race Course). The race has a post time of 7:01pm ET and will be available to watch on NBC.

Golden Tempo, the Kentucky Derby winner, will not be in the field for the Preakness, instead choosing to focus on the Belmont Stakes in June. There are five horses with morning line odds between 9-2 and 6-1, which shows there are plenty of horses considered legitimate contenders in the field of 14 for this years Preakness.

I added this page to help Washington and Oregon residents quickly and easily place bets on the Preakness Stakes online. Below I will recommend a sportsbook, touch on the betting options in both states, and provide a straight forward 3 step guide you can follow to get your Preakness bets placed within minutes.

Preakness Betting in Washington and Oregon

Sports betting is legal in Washington (since 2020), but it’s only allowed when on-location at a tribal casino. And although they can legally offer sports betting, the majority of tribal casinos in Washington still don’t have a sportsbook.

In Oregon, sports betting has been legal since 2019, but the state has granted a monopoly on the industry to DraftKings. Initially the state-run mobile app, Scoreboard, was the only online betting option for Oregon residents, but in January of 2022, DraftKings was granted the exclusive rights to be the mobile betting provider for the state. To compare odds and find a free market for betting, Oregon residents must look outside of the single state-approved betting site.

If you live in either Washington or Oregon and want to bet on the Preakness Stakes online you can do so through offshore betting sites that are licensed and regulated outside of the US, while accepting American bettors. BetOnline.ag is our recommended online sportsbook for US residents.
