How To Bet On MLS Is Back Tournament From the USA

By Soccer

The MLS is set to return on July 8th with a World Cup style tournament that is being dubbed the “MLS is Back Tournament”. The 26 teams have been divided into 6 groups (Group A with 6 teams and all other groups with 4) and 16 teams will advance to the bracket style knockout round that begins on July 25th. From there it will be single elimination until the tournament winner is crowned on August 11th.

The MLS is Back Tournament will be played entirely in at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The group stage matches will count towards the normal regular season and the winner of the tournament will gain an automatic berth into the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League.

The MLS will be the first major sports league in the United States to return to play, so I’m expecting plenty of betting interest in the tournament. On this page I will recommend our top rated betting site, look at the different bets you can make on the MLS Back to Play Tournament (with odds) and finish up with a simple 3 step guide you can follow to place your bets online.

MLS Back To Play Tournament Betting Options

In addition to being able to bet on every match throughout the tournament, SportsBetting.ag has a wide variety of futures bets available for the MLS Back to Play Tournament.

MLS Back To Play Group Winners

There are six groups and you can wager on which team will win each group. Below is an example using the larger Group A. New York City is the favorite to win the group with odds of +185, but I think the value could be in a team like Inter Miami or Orlando City with only three matches deciding the group winner.

You can also wager on teams to qualify for the knockout stage.

MLS Back To Play Tournament Winner

Of course you can also bet on which team will win the entire tournament and gain entry to the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League.

Los Angeles FC is the favorite to win the tournament with odds of +550. In the below screenshot I’ve included all teams with 20/1 or better odds. To see the full list (and all of the other futures) at SportsBetting.ag open the ‘Game Props’ drop down menu and select ‘Soccer Futures’ in the Sports section.

Match Betting

In addition to the futures you can also wager on every match throughout the tournament.

The match odds can be found under the ‘Soccer’ drop down menu by selecting ‘USA’.

The 1×2 and totals odds are available for all of the early matches and I expect spreads to be added closer to the tournament. Check out our soccer page to learn more about these betting options.
