Point Spread

In the above example, the Chicago Bears are 3 point favorites (-3). The Bears must win the game by 4 or more points for a bet on Chicago -3 to win. The Carolina Panthers are 3 point underdogs (+3). The Panthers must either win the game outright or lose by 2 or fewer points for bets on Carolina +3 to win. If the Bears win by exactly 3 points then the point spread bets would “push” and be refunded.
Money Line
A money line bet is simply a bet on which team will win the game. The odds associated with each team determines your risk vs reward for the bet.
In the above example the Chicago Bears are -175 favorites. This means you must risk $175 to win $100 betting on the Bears. The Carolina Panthers are +150 underdogs. This means you would win $150 for every $100 risked betting on the Panthers to pull off the upset.
Total
A total bet is a wager on the amount of points to be scored in the game by both teams. The oddsmaker will set a total and you can bet on whether the number of points scored will be over or under that amount.
In the above example the total is set at 38.5 points. Over bets would win if 39 or more points are scored and under bets would win if 38 or fewer points are scored.
