How To Bet On The 2018 Preakness Stakes From the USA

By Horse Racing

The Preakness Stakes is the second leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing in the United States.  If a horse is able to follow up their Kentucky Derby win, with another win at the Preakness Stakes, then the hype gets big for the Belmont Stakes because there is a potential Triple Crown winner heading into the race.

This year, Justify who won the Kentucky Derby as the favorite, has a great chance to also win the Preakness and head to the Belmont Stakes as a real threat to win the Triple Crown.  Justify was a 3/1 favorite to win the Derby and after an impressive win he’s an overwhelming favorite heading into the Preakness.

On this page I will outline our recommended betting site for Americans to bet on the Preakness Stakes, the current Preakness betting odds, and a simple 3 step guide to help you get your bets placed on the 2018 Preakness Stakes horse race.

Before Race Day

Prior to race day you can place your bets through the Bovada Sportsbook.  Click on ‘Sports’ on the Bovada website and then select ‘Horse Racing Futures & Props’ to bring up the Preakness odds.  The odds you see will be fixed odds to win the race, meaning they are locked in when you place the bet and you can only bet on the outright winner of the race in this section.

On race day you can bet on the race through the ‘Horses’ section of the Bovada website.  Click on ‘Horses’ and then select ‘Pimlico’ under the ‘Today’s Tracks’ drop down menu.  Select the race that begins at 6:20pm EDT and then select which type of bet you would like to make (Win/Place/Show, Exacta, Trifecta, etc).

Select your bets and click ‘Add to Betslip’.  Then enter your bet amount in the right sidebar, click ‘Review Bet’ and confirm your wager.
